What is conveyancing?

Conveyancing is the legal work involved in transferring property from one party to another and includes preparing the sales contract, mortgage and other related documents when purchasing or selling a property.

Do I need a conveyancer when buying and selling property?

Buying and selling property can be one of the most exciting but stressful processes in life. While you do not need a conveyancer to do this, it is highly recommended. A conveyancer will be able to help you with any legal issues, provide advice and assist you with your due diligence. They also have full indemnity insurance so if something does go wrong, you will be covered.

What does a conveyancer do?

Your conveyancer can check for easements, covenants and caveats. They will prepare and lodge legal documents including contract of sale and memorandum of transfer, calculate and adjust rates and taxes owed to the vendor, settle the property and act as your representative.

Our expert team offers a wide range of professional conveyancing and property law advice and services, including:

  • I was recommend to Fourtree Lawyers from a friend whom also experienced a serious driving infringement. My situation was slightly more serious, being charged with drive while suspended, shared with a reasonably extensive driving record, meant my chances of driving home were minimal. Kevin’s realistic and knowledgeable approach not only prepared & educated me upon all possible verdicts, but also supported me with all possible optimistic outcomes. Kevin’s extensive knowledge of the legal system, combined with the understanding of the Judges expectations, and vast life experience resulted with an outstanding result,...
